An applicable orthotropic creep model for wood materials and composites

چکیده
Abstract Despite the engineering importance of creep composite materials and other fibrous anisotropic load-carrying like wood, there is an apparent lack in useful experimental data 3D. Proposed models are generally not commensurate with realistic from characterization. In present study, orthotropic linear viscoelastic model presented examined on its performance predicting time-dependent nature wood materials. The constitutive equations using hereditary approach. A clear description finite element implementation material given. Since constant Poisson’s ratios a common assumption for composites due to data, this study presents effects ratio study. calibrated against inevitably asymmetric optimization With ratios, results show that able simultaneously capture behaviour three axis such as European beech fibre-reinforced composite. However, relatively poor match was found when were set be constant. Thus, frequently employed should made caution.

Waves in Wood: Elastic Waves in Cylindrically Orthotropic Materials
We consider elastic waves in materials with cylindrical orthotropy, this being a plausible model for wood. For time-harmonic motions, the problem is reduced to some coupled ordinary differential equations. Previously, these have been solved using the method of Frobenius (power-series expansions). We use Neumann series (expansions in Bessel functions of various orders), motivated by the known cl...
متن کاملAn anisotropic tertiary creep damage constitutive model for anisotropic materials
When an anisotropic material is subject to creep conditions and a complex state of stress, an anisotropic creep damage behavior is observed. Previous research has focused on the anisotropic creep damage behavior of isotropic materials but few constitutive models have been developed for anisotropic creeping solids. This paper describes the development of a new anisotropic tertiary creep damage c...
متن کاملCreep of beams of wood and wood-based materials under transverse load
The paper presents the test results of beams made of chipboards, fibreboards, wood as per referenced items [1], [2], [3]. Adopting various rheological models, their behaviour in time under permanent load was described. The model testing of a box-section beam, with wooden flanges connected with continuous chipboard lacings, was described. It was found that the construction of beams made of unlim...
متن کاملPresenting an experimental creep model for rock salt
During the recent decades, the design and construction of underground spaces into rock salt have been particularly regarded for storing petroleum fluids, natural gas, and compressed air energy, and also for disposing nuclear and chemical wastes. The rock salt hosting such spaces will be subjected to various types of monotonic/cyclic, short-term/long-term stresses during the construction and/or ...
